5th Annual Drake Naylor Invitational

April 20, 2010

Please take a moment to watch this incredible video about my fundraiser, The Drake Naylor Invitational, in honor of my son. ALL monies go to the Greensboro Cerebral Palsy Association/Gateway Education Center. For more information, please visit Shane’s Sporting Clays or Seek the Triad!!!

Since this is the 5th Annual, I wrote this “poem” if you will… enjoy!!!

*5 years ago the doctors simply told us Drake was Blind.

~Today we know he just sees the world in a different way.

*5 years ago the doctors simply told us Drake was Deaf.

~Today we know he listens to words not spoken.

*5 years ago the doctors simply told us Drake would be immobile.

~Today we know you don’t have to use your feet to travel the journey of life.

*5 years ago we simplyenrolled Drake in the

Greensboro Cerebral Palsy Infant/Toddler Program.

~Today we know it’s more than just a school…

it’s a way of life which we are proud to be a part of.

*5 years ago we simply started a small fundraiser called the

Drake Naylor Invitational, with the help of a few friends and family.

~Today we know our whole community cares for these children

and has helped raise over $225,000!!!

Trish,
This was the most heart touching video I have ever seen…You are such a GREAT mother to those boys. You each are so Blessed to have each other. Life can be so wonderful if we take what it gives us and cherish it. Family is a Key to Life and by far the most important part of who we are and who we become..I have always believed that the best part of me are my Children–Angels from God himself. Being a mother is the greatest gift one could ever have. Stand Proud you are a Fantastic Mother filled with so much love and compassion…

Your words stopped me in my tracks. So glad I surfed over to read them. I think of the song, “Open the eyes of my heart, Lord. I want to see You.” Obviously, you have.
Bless you!

Sounds like a wonderful organization! I’m always reminded how blessed we are in our “special” child.
