Another new love of mine ia TOMS shoes! I bought my first pair, kind of as a guilty purchase, from one of my new advertisers on Seek the Triad, Jack Cecils. There was this cute young salesgirl whom claimed she owned several pair because she interned at TOMS one summer. Of course I wanted to be young, cute and hip too so I purchased a pair.

Little did I know I would fall in love with these earthy, organic looking darlings. Feel good? YES! And they just came out with new colors last week at Jack Cecils. ALso, JC is having this great event called “Paint your TOMS party“. HURRY and sign up though, final date to pre-order is February 6th! We will meet at Jack Cecils to paint a pair and bring a pair of new or gently used childrens shoes to donate to a local charity. Doesn’t that sound like fun!!! Can’t paint? You don’t have to be a complete artist… just paint stripes, dots or a solid colr of choice. Me, I’m going for peace signs (thanks for the idea MJ) and maybe some polkadots… I think I can manage that.

More from TOMS:
ONE FOR ONE
TOMS Shoes was founded on a simple premise: With every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One. Using the purchasing power of individuals to benefit the greater good is what we’re all about.

OUR STORY
In 2006 an American traveler, Blake Mycoskie, befriended children in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. Blake returned to Argentina with a group of family, friends and staff later that year with 10,000 pairs of shoes made possible by caring TOMS customers.

Since our beginning, TOMS has given over 400,000 pairs of shoes to children in need through the One for One model. Our ongoing community events and Shoe Drop Tours allow TOMS supporters and enthusiasts to be part of our One for One movement. Join us.
