wow... did someone say perfect brownies?
Okay, so my seven year old, Grant, had been asking for this “fun” cooking pan for the ENTIRE month of December. I was so glad that Santa was kind enough to bring this special cooking gadget, the “Perfect Brownie Pan“! So after several days of begging to cook these tiny “pre-cut” delectibles, we made them today. The instructions were simple and I followed them quite well (or so I thought). My biggest worry was that the batter would leak out the bottom and I’d have to eat the goo that dripped mess.
We stirred, we poured, we baked and we ate. Were the brownies tasty? YES, Ghirardelli brownie mix is the ONLY mix I’ve found that has great consistency, divine taste and bakes up with chewy centers and crisp edges. Did the “Perfect Brownie Pan” hold up to the test? NO Freaking Way!!! Even though I didn’t hear any complaints from the peanut gallery about the results, mine certainly didn’t measure up to the infomercial! My one suggestion might be this, don’t use two whole bags of brownie mix like the direction suggest (from the box mix). Maybe go one and a half batches of mix and eat the rest your self (don’t tell your kids I said that).
Is it a Deal or a Dud?
They still taste good
Non Stick? I think Not.
By the way: Did anyone notice the look on the mother’s face in the picture above? It looks like she’s thinking, “Oh dear God, did I really just pay $19.99 for this?” Take note… We have that Giant cupcake thing too… want to know how it fares?

wow oh well it didn’t work but they still look yummy!
Your brownies look much yummier to eat, hers look dry and cardboard like, give me a gooey, sloppy brownie any day!
I want the giant cupcake thing! Let us know if it works!
looks like a fun pan to have to clean! You know I always look at things from the mess angle! But, ooey, gooey are always the best tasting! The other ladies look like dry bricks!
I have been wondering about that brownie pan, although I personally always try to avoid the edge pieces because I like chewy not crunchy bits. Anyhoo– I do own the giant cupcake, and I will have to say it’s a deal.. It did really make a giant cupcake (although in two parts that needed to be put together) and when completly frosted, it was delish! I would try a box and half in the cupcake maker as well, and trim the top of your pieces to make it fit together nicely.
If you go back to making brownies the old way, the best way to cut them up without making a mess is to use a plastic knife. Sounds crazy, but it works.
